Professional Family Portraits in the Shearith Israel Sanctuary

Sunday, September 15, 4:00PM - 6:00PM

In A Flash: Frame Your Family Against The Backdrop Of Jewish History

Take advantage of this rare chance to take professional family photos -- for an incredibly reasonable price -- in our storied Shearith Israel sanctuary.

Do A Mitzvah In The Bargain, Too!

It is usually on Shabbat or Hag, and thus without a snazzy camera handy, that most of us are at Shearith Israel all spruced up with our kids, or parents, or grandparents. On Sunday, September 15, 2019, between 4 and 6 p.m., you can finally secure a digital record, taken by a professional, of your family against the backdrop of our community’s historic and glorious premises. Throw the digital photos into Shana-Toba cards with  historic cachet, post them on your social-media-of-choice as a humble-brag, email to far-flung family to remind them of ties even more remote, or even just print and frame to record your family’s place in Shearith Israel's history!

This is a terrific chance not only to get a family photo in the Shearith Israel sanctuary, but also to get professional family photos for the extraordinarily affordable price of twenty-five dollars ($25). This is made  possible only because the cost has been generously subsidized by the Shearith Israel Sisterhood. The same fee covers both the sitting and your downloadable digital photos that you will receive within a few days.

As a final bonus, on your way in or on your way out, your family will have the option of taking a few minutes to address Shana-Toba cards (crayons provided for pint-size artistes) to someone on a posted list of our more elderly members. We will then mail them out for you. Squeeze in one more mitzvah before the Yamim Noraim, the High Holy Days, and -- as you take a digital photo recording your place in our venerable community -- help remember and send warmth to those in our community who have helped build it throughout their lives and make it what it is today.

WHEN: The photoshoots will be held on Sunday September 15, 2019, between 4 and 6 p.m.

COST: Both the professional photoshoot and the downloadable digital photo are covered by a twenty-five dollar ($25) fee. If, aside from digital photos (that you can print if you wish), you desire professional printing, the photographer will work with you for an additional fee.

HOW: When you sign up and pay at this link, you will be asked to select preferred slots – sign up quickly - first come, first served. Provide an email address at which you will receive both confirmation of your slot before the photoshoot and, within a few days after the photoshoot, a private link to your family’s digital photos. Reminder please to dress during the photoshoot as appropriately as always for our beloved synagogue.

WHO: Your choice as to whether to bring the full family or some subset thereof: kids, grandparent and grandchild, young couples, young-at-heart couples, cousins . . .
