At Shearith Israel every holiday celebration is augmented with a distinctive observance, whether aesthetic, ritual, historic or liturgic. The congregations involvement in pivotal moments in American history has instilled religious significance into several American holidays.

Crosby Street Synagogue

 In 1834 the congregation built a new synagogue on Crosby Street, between Broom and Spring Street.

Shearith Israel’s “Omer Board” dates back to the Mill Street Synagogue of 1730, and may indeed go back to the early years of the Congregation’s history.
