Yona Glass, Interim PTTS Hebrew School Principal

Yona Glass has been a professional educator for over ten years. She received her undergraduate degree from Stern College, a Master’s Degree in Literacy from Hunter College, and Montessori Licensing from the North American Montessori Center. Yona teaches kindergarten at Manhattan Day School and has been the Hebrew Reading Specialist at PTTS for four years before assuming the role of Interim Principal of PTTS.

Emma Lazarus is best known for her famous poem, “The New Colossus,” inscribed on the base of the Statue of Liberty.

Chatham Square Cemetery

The oldest of our extant cemeteries is known as the Chatham Square Cemetery.  It is located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place.  The land was originally purchased in 1682 by Joseph Bueno de Mesquita.
