Civil War Memorial Event Honoring Myer Asch

Held at Beth Olam - Shearith Israel Cemetery

Sunday, April 22, 11:00AM

Please join us for a very special event on the morning of April 22nd when we will honor Colonel Myer Asch, a highly decorated veteran of the Civil War, by installing a special marker of the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Meade Post 1, at his grave. The ceremony will include a color guard, civil war reenactors, special presentations, and a tour of the cemetery decorating the graves of Jewish veterans of the Civil War buried at Beth Olam.

Beth Olam cemetery is located at the intersection of Cypress Hills Street and the Jackie Robinson Parkway. Please join us for this very special event.

Liberty Bell Rimonim

These Rimonim, modeled after the American Liberty Bell, were commissioned by the Congregation in honor of Judge Edgar J. Nathan Jr.

Chatham Square Cemetery

The oldest of our extant cemeteries is known as the Chatham Square Cemetery.  It is located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place.  The land was originally purchased in 1682 by Joseph Bueno de Mesquita.
