Israel At 70 Lecture Series

A Three-Part Series on Select Shabbatot

Join us for these special lectures by Rabbi Soloveichik, marking this momentous anniversary of the State of Israel.  The first two lectures will take place on Shabbat morning, following services.

The final lecture will be this year's Shabuot Public Lecture at 11:00 PM on May 19.

Chatham Square Cemetery

The oldest of our extant cemeteries is known as the Chatham Square Cemetery.  It is located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place.  The land was originally purchased in 1682 by Joseph Bueno de Mesquita.

Twenty First Street Cemetery

In August of 1829, Shearith Israel’s third cemetery was consecrated.  It was located on Twenty First Street just west of Sixth Avenue
