UJA’s Fleet Week Pre-Memorial Day Community Program

Hear from Jewish military leaders, including our own honorary trustee, Col. Jonathan de Sola Mendes and help create care packages for those serving abroad.

 

Chatham Square Cemetery

The oldest of our extant cemeteries is known as the Chatham Square Cemetery.  It is located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place.  The land was originally purchased in 1682 by Joseph Bueno de Mesquita.

These bells adorned a Torah scroll at the consecration ceremony of the First Mill Street Synagogue in 1730.
