Shabbat Groups

On Shabbat, we believe our children should learn to pray as well as develop a deeper appreciation for Jewish learning. Shabbat and Holiday Youth Groups for children aged 5-12 begin at 10:00 am.  Children meet in the Children’s Library, followed by Junior Congregation (and on select weeks- Assigned Junior Congregation) in the Small Synagogue. Our creative Youth Group Leaders, Shayna and Gideon, lead the children through and exploration of the parasha and other engaging activities on Jewish themes.

Liberty Bell Rimonim

These Rimonim, modeled after the American Liberty Bell, were commissioned by the Congregation in honor of Judge Edgar J. Nathan Jr.

Chatham Square Cemetery

The oldest of our extant cemeteries is known as the Chatham Square Cemetery.  It is located in Chinatown at 55 St. James Place.  The land was originally purchased in 1682 by Joseph Bueno de Mesquita.
